*POSITION FILLED* Infant Nanny Needed for Laid Back First Time Parents in Nashville - $25-$27+ per hour! - Job #224

First-time parents in West Meade are in search of a knowledgeable and loving nanny to care for their 3-month-old baby girl starting in July (some flexibility for a later start date for the right candidate). The typical schedule will be Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm, with 40 hours guaranteed each week. Both parents work partially from home in separate work spaces and plan to stay out of their nanny’s way! Dad does travel quite a bit and mom works out of the home 2 days per week. When dad travels, there will be an opportunity for overtime, so a nanny who is flexible to stay later on occasion would be a good fit. They are looking for a nanny who is confident in providing full-charge childcare without needing much direction or guidance. In fact, a nanny who understands developmental milestones and could help guide them as parents would be wonderful. They are not looking to micromanage and respect that they are hiring someone so that they can focus on their own jobs while the nanny focuses on caring for their baby. They describe themselves as being introverted and having a quieter household, but they are still very warm and friendly and are looking for a nanny they can easily communicate and connect with. They are pretty laid back and as long as the job gets done properly, they welcome the nanny to use their own judgment and expertise to structure the days and accomplish tasks. They are offering $25-$27+ per hour, DOE + vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, and a health insurance stipend!!

Their daughter has a cleft palate and while experience with this is not required, it would be great if a candidate does! With that said, there are no extra duties or responsibilities aside from feeding her with a special bottle. Their ideal candidate is knowledgeable on developmental milestones and proactively plans activities and outings to foster their baby’s development. They value the importance of independent playtime and would like a balance of both engaged activities and independent free play so their daughter can learn to use her imagination and not always need to be entertained. They live in a walkable neighborhood with a large backyard and encourage daily walks, outdoor time, and once she gets a little older, various outings, classes, play dates, etc. They are a Christian family and are seeking a candidate who is comfortable working in a Christian household and affirming those beliefs with their daughter.

They like to keep organized by maintaining a daily baby log, and would love to find a nanny who can help them sleep train, transition to solids, and create a consistent eating and sleeping routine. The typical job responsibilities will include things related to the baby such as laundry, changing crib sheet, taking out diaper trash, washing/sanitizing bottles, disinfecting toys, organizing child areas, planning activities and outings, restocking changing table, preparing well-balanced child meals/homemade purees, etc. They follow AAP safe sleep guidelines for infants so interested candidates should be up to date on best practices. Since their daughter is so young, they haven’t thought too much about parenting style yet, but they feel they align with a connected, positive parenting approach. They are all about firm boundaries and “no” meaning “no”, but they want to make sure their daughter feels heard, validated, and loved. They understand that kids are kids and an adult’s job is to help kids learn how to regulate their emotions. Their ideal caregiver aligns with this philosophy and values children as the little humans that they are. They are very excited to find a loving and qualified nanny to join their family!
