*POSITION FILLED* Outdoorsy & Energetic Nanny Needed For Loving Family on 10-Acre Property in Franklin, TN - $25-$30 per hour!! - Job #457

A busy and fun-loving family of 4 is looking for a dynamic full-time nanny to join their team starting in August! They live in a newly built home with a horse barn on 10-acres, and absolutely love the outdoors! They have 2 very energetic and adventurous boys ages 3 and 6. They are seeking a nanny who loves to get outside, be on the go, isn’t afraid to get dirty, likes to try new things, and has a positive and flexible work ethic. They have a wonderful property complete with horses, a creek, ATVs, a beautiful swimming pool with a waterslide, and more! They are the type of family who believes in taking care of those who take care of them - they include their nanny in meals, they have multiple vacation homes, and even encourage their nanny to use them for their own vacation! They describe themselves as very generous and appreciative, especially to the person who helps care for their children and helps them maintain a smooth household.

They do travel a handful of times per year and would love a nanny who is interested in traveling with them as well as doing overnights when the parents travel without the kids. Mom is in and out of the home, so it’s very important she clicks well with their nanny - she currently has a great relationship with their nanny and loves having fun with her throughout the day. There is a lot of tag-teaming involved such as mom driving one child to an extracurricular while the nanny drives the other child to another extracurricular activity (nanny car provided!). Interested candidates must be adept at working as a team, having a good rapport with the parents just as much as the kids, and having a fun personality with a good sense of humor. They are offering $25-$30 gross per hour for 40 guaranteed hours per week + vacation time, sick time, paid holidays, & other random perks such as the examples listed above!

The typical schedule will be 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from either 12pm-8pm or 10am-6pm. They will provide the schedule in advance so their nanny can plan accordingly. What has worked well in the past is sitting down to go over the calendar as soon as they know certain commitments, including commitments/unavailability on the nanny’s end. They are all about open communication and being mutually respectful and considerate. With that said, flexibility is key because sometimes things do come up last minute, and if their nanny happens to be available, they greatly appreciate being able to adjust the schedule as needed. In return, they are also very flexible and if something comes up and the nanny needs to change the schedule, as long as they can make it work, they are also happy to accommodate. Essentially, while they do not in any way expect a nanny to be at their beck and call, a nanny who has a very consistent and rigid after 6pm schedule and is therefore unable to accommodate any flexibility requests, would not be the best fit. There is the possibility for weekends on occasion, but again this would be scheduled in advance and subject to the nanny’s availability.

They describe their boys as good kids who have lots of energy and love to play hard. Their oldest is incredibly gentle, good-natured, loves animals, and is eager to please. Their youngest is a sweet boy, but he is also at that typical stage where he is pushing boundaries to see what he can get away with. Their parenting style involves using a connected approach with positive reinforcement and redirection. They try not to react impulsively and are not the type to yell. They talk things through and discuss why certain behaviors aren’t okay and implement natural and logical consequences as necessary. They are looking for a nanny who can also be consistent with setting and enforcing necessary boundaries while still adhering to a connected parenting approach.

Their ideal candidate has a strong ability to multitask, be proactive, and have a high energy work ethic. They do not expect someone to go go go all day long, but it is a busy job and interested candidates should excel in a fast-paced environment. They would like someone who takes initiative and is a self-directed worker so that they do not need to coach or micromanage every task. The typical responsibilities will include things like child laundry, changing child bed sheets, organizing toys/child areas, cleaning up kitchen after meals, lots of driving transporting kids to and from school/extracurriculars, keeping the kids engaged and active, assisting with homework on occasion, helping with basic pet needs on occasion, and preparing meals for the kids (including HelloFresh meals - must have basic cooking skills and able to follow a recipe). The parents are very involved and these duties do not fall solely on the nanny - they firmly believe that everyone in the household should pitch in. They are looking for someone long-term who will ideally grow with them for years to come!
